How To Use The Power of Assumption to Manifest Bible Promises
You can not achieve anything that is beyond your ability to believe and you can not believe anything that you do not understand is possible. These are basic metaphysical principles that apply to all of us if we are aware of them or not.
So how do these ideas connect to our Metaphysical Bible Study: The Bible In Light Of Our Ascension?
If you want to be part of the new species that is forming on the earth at this time, you must have a belief system that supports this new manifestation. These Divine Beings of Light and Supernatural power are created through faith and no other way.
Faith in what? You must believe or have faith in the ideas that describe this new reality. The Bible is full of ideas and concepts about this new reality of ascension.
One term used to describe the core ideas about Bible ascension is called the gospel of Jesus Christ. The term gospel means good news. Salvation, redemption, being born again and the glorious inheritance of the saints are other terms used to describe this new state of being.
Now do not get confused here. Many metaphysical students might be feeling resistant to this lesson because these terms are associated with ideas about spirituality that you have already rejected.
If that is how you are feeling, I understand completely. I also had many of those same feelings as I began to study the Bible as an adult. However, most of the definitions for these terms that you learned in your early Bible training do not apply to our study of Bible ascension. Let me help you out by giving you a few new definitions to these old terms.
A Metaphysical Definition for Sin
Let’s start with sin.
As a child, I never really understood what this word meant. I knew instinctively that it was used to make me feel guilty about things I did but I did not understand its true Bible meaning.
The truth is that as metaphysical students we have studied these ideas but we just used different terms that did not produce such a knee jerk reaction.
Here is how I have come to understand the concept of sin.
Sin represents a spiritual state of separation from the consciousness of God. It is the basis of the human condition created by the fall from a consciousness of oneness with God into duality where we became conscious of both good and evil. (Remember the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil which was at the center of the fall story.)
There are really three parts to this term; the state of sin, the acts of sin, and the consequences of sin.
What I just described in the above paragraphs is the state of sin. It is a state of consciousness where one is separated from the state of oneness that was demonstrated in the story of the Garden of Eden.
In this state of separation from God, we do acts of sin out of fear and a sense of lack. You might say that the acts of sin are anything that is done outside of the law of love.
- When you steal, you are not acting in love.
- When you tell a lie about another, you are not acting in love.
- When you become violent against another, you are not acting in love.
All of these actions come from that core sense of separation from God that creates fear, limitation and struggle.
Every act, including the act of sin, creates a karmic energy. The universal law says that you must reap what you sow. In the natural realm, this law is described as “every action causes a reaction.”
In metaphysics, we understand the power of this karmic energy and how it creates blocks that stop the flow of blessings into your life.
Acts of love (the opposite of an act of sin) attract more love into your life. As metaphysics has taught us, the more love you give the more you get. The more you pour blessings into the world the more blessings you will attract into your life.
The consequence of sin is that the debt created by the act must be paid. One of the ways this karmic debt is resolved is through the “lessons” life brings to each one of us.
Another way to think about removing the karmic debt is to think of karma as an energy that must be transmuted so that the energetic block which stops the flow of blessings into your life can be removed from your consciousness and your outer experiences.
Many of us have experienced the powerful work of an energy healer that removed certain blocks from our energy fields. Some of us have heard of gurus that took on the karma of their disciples stopping the consequences of their sin (acts outside of love) from coming to past.
So you see the Bible concept of sin is not so very different from the concept of karma that we have learned from metaphysics and the new age philosophies we have all studied.
A Metaphysical Definition For Redemption
With your new understanding of the concept of sin, it is easier to understand the idea of redemption. Many of us have been taught in our metaphysical or alternative spiritual teachings that we do not need a savior. Some of the objections to the idea of Jesus as a savior include:
- From what was Jesus saving us?
- We have rejected the ideas of heaven and hell that we learned in our early Christian teachings; so, what is the redemption all about?
- And what is the crucifixion all about?
One day while I was standing in the foyer of a Unity Church in south Florida, observing their book display, I noticed that one of the books began to radiate vibrant light. I knew that I was seeing this with my spirit eye and that God was giving me a message about this book’s importance to me. I immediately crossed the room to look more carefully at this book. I did not recognize the author but the forward said that she was a teacher of Charles and Myrtle Fillmore, the founders of Unity. Of course, I purchased the book!
The book was entitled High Mysticism by Emma Curtis Hopkins.
To my great joy, I opened to the exact page I needed to read. In this section of her book, the author was explaining the meaning of the crucifixion. She described how Jesus took all the karmic energy of the world (past, present and future) and transmuted it that day upon the cross. She helped me understand that this was a cosmic event not easily understood by the natural mind.
When the Bible says that Jesus paid the price for our sins, it means that Jesus took the karmic energy created by the acts of non-love and transmuted this cosmic energy, setting anyone free from the debt produced by these acts, through a simple act of faith. He did this for the entire world. All that is required to benefit from this gift is to understand its meaning and to accept it by faith.
Redemption is being set free from the karmic debt we have created through our acts that are outside of the law of love. The karmic energy is transmuted back into light and the consequence of that act of sin no longer affects our consciousness and therefore, our outer life.
I have observed people who understood this concept, accepted this gift by faith and were immediately transformed in front of my eyes.
I once saw a man who after receiving the idea of forgiveness through faith in the redemptive work of Christ, looked like someone had scrubbed his face removing all the darkness and light radiated out from his newly cleaned face. It was amazing!
My grandfather, who was a mean alcoholic, gave up drinking, smoking, and fighting the same day that he accepted this great gift of redemption. He walked out of that church a totally transformed man. People would later describe him as the most loving man that they had every met! I have worked with alcoholics and very few have a spontaneous transformation. My grandfather’s experience represents the power of faith in a cosmic idea!
Jesus once said, “Know the truth and the truth will set you free!”
A Metaphysical Definition For Salvation
As a child I was taught that salvation was only about heaven and hell. In fact, it was more about escaping hell that enjoying heaven. Heaven was often described to me as being a place where we sat at the feet of God and sang praises all day long. At the time, I did not enjoy singing so it was not all that appealing!
When I rejected these ideas about heaven and hell, I no longer understood the need for salvation as I am sure many of you did. After I was directed to return to Bible study, I began to find a much deeper meaning to the word salvation.
The Greek word for salvation is sodezo. This term includes much more than “fire insurance”. According to Strong’s Greek dictionary it means: to save, i.e. deliver or protect (literal or figurative): — heal, preserve, save (self), do well, be (make) whole. This concept also includes prosperity, healing and safety.
The Hebrew word for salvation is yshuw`ah, defined as something saved, i.e. (abstractly) deliverance; hence, aid, victory, prosperity: — deliverance, health, help(-ing), salvation, save, saving (health), welfare.
This Hebrew word for salvation is derived from the root word yasha`, defined as; a primitive root; properly, to be open, wide or free, i.e. (by implication) to be safe; causatively, to free or succor: — X at all, avenging, defend, deliver(-er), help, preserve, rescue, be safe, bring (having) salvation, save(-iour), get victory.
I don’t see any mention of heaven or hell in those definitions!
Metaphysically, we know that we can expect a life of blessing, prosperity, safety and health. Salvation is the state of having obtained these blessings in consciousness and therefore manifesting them into your outer life.
You might consider that being saved is a God given potential for each person in earth. However, to activate this possibility you must believe that it is true for you and focus your powerful creator consciousness on manifesting this new reality into your life.
In Bible ascension, we include in salvation not just an enhanced human life but the possibility of stepping out of the human condition of limitation, struggle, and mortality into the supernatural state of a Divine Being of Light manifesting on earth doing the same things Jesus did while he was walking the shores of Galilee.
A New Way Of Looking At The Bible
After leaving my early religious experiences, I developed a deep mistrust for the Bible. In metaphysical and alternative spiritual circles, I was taught that the Bible was filled with errors and that certain basic truths had been eliminated from the text. This was a great stumbling block to my search for a deeper understanding of the mysteries hidden in the Bible.
I learned that some of my concerns about the Bible were not always based on fact. I won’t go into all of this now as this lesson is already way too long; however, I will write more about the Bible at a later date.
For now, let me just say that I have come to understand the Bible as a new set of concepts that when activated by faith can catapult one into a new reality. When you understand the Bible in light of our ascension, you can apply your faith to this new design for humanity.
You can use the promises about this “glorious inheritance” given in the Bible to replace your old “human condition” ideas and manifest the fullness of Spirit into your form, birthing you into this new species of Divine Beings who walk the earth in the same supernatural power that Jesus promised to all that would believe.
What You Believe Matters!
Your core beliefs or assumptions about yourself and your world create your reality. If you do not believe that it is possible to do “the works of Jesus and even greater” you will never be able to do so.
In my spiritual search, I have found that many spiritual paths do not contain ideas with enough power to actually transform our human experiences into the supernatural realms. Many of these teachings use the term miracle to describe events that can be explained by natural law.
The Bible gives us a design for living outside of natural law. It promises that if we believe we can live a supernatural life doing things that the natural mind sees as fantasy.
Jesus raised the dead, healed the sick, pulled resources directly from the universal storehouse and promised that we could do the same. He said that if we believed in him we would never taste of physical death.
Understanding the Bible requires the spirit of wisdom and revelation. It can never be understood by the natural mind. Why? The natural mind balks at the ideas of transforming into a new species. It tries to explain the miracles of the Bible in terms of natural law. The natural mind wants to evaluate spiritual ideas with natural history and scientific thinking.
Paul prays repeatedly that believers be giving the spirit of wisdom and revelation so that they can know God and this great inheritance of the saints.
Here is that prayer:
A Prayer For The Spirit Of Wisdom And Revelation
Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
Ephesians 1:16-23 KJV
I pray this same prayer for myself and for all of you. We will never achieve Bible Ascension without the gift of the spirit of wisdom and revelation.
I am very excited about the promise of this new life and I completely expect to fulfill it while here on earth. I hope you will join me in this great adventure.
The Power of Assumption
These are beautiful concepts that you can use to create a supernatural life for yourself right here on earth. If you use the laws of assumption or faith, you can make this a reality right here right now.
